Apply to cost saving, energy efficiency upgrades, or replacement systems for new construction & existing residential dwellings. They took effect January 1, 2023 and are extended out to 2032 (10 years).

Simplified, this reads: If you have a $2000 film job done, you qualify for a maximum $600 (30% of 2000) credit. Window Films may fit in either of these two categories. It is considered an insulation material by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). Window Films can also be considered a retro-fit enhancement to existing glass for its added solar heat gain control, infrared heat rejection, and slightly improved U-values on existing single and double paned windows.
Additionally, windows films provide 99% UV blockage and glass retention to the frame (in various strengths). The film holds the broken shards in place during a sudden impact event, whether natural, or human caused.
